My Bouncing Baby Book Is One Year Old!
How time flies when you’re having a pandemic! While Bookie and I never got out of the house for a launch party or book tours, some very nice things happened.
The Psychotherapy Networker, my favorite professional mag—they let me write for them—excerpted my baby in the July/August issue. I bit my nails a bit: would therapists like it? Yes! At least one did, anyway. This, from a lovely letter to the editor: “…a highly personal, moving, exquisitely written work on the immediacy of the therapeutic moment….”
No lie, the Amazon reviews made this proud mama coo: “Reads like a novel.” “I couldn’t put it down.” “A fascinating look behind the scenes.” “Funny and Wise.”
I was also interviewed twice. In April, for a podcast with Billy Dees and last month on cable access television with Suzette Standring. (Spoiler alert: I tell Suzette, and you, a patient story from the book).
There’s likely another year ahead of masking, laying low and social zooming. Still, it’s almost spring. After a long spell of winter doldrums, the maple sap, along with my willingness to zoom, is rising. If you’d enjoy a zoom reading—with a raffle for a signed book—let me know in the comments below. That would be fun, don’t you think?
